Due to heavy torrential rains, there have been severe flood and landslides in many parts of Sri Lanka. It is confirmed that more than 200 people have died and over 400,000 people have become homeless due to this disaster.
Because of that the High Commission of Sri Lanka, together with Brickfield Budhist Maha Vihara, Sentul Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple and Sri Lankan Expatriate Associations in Malaysia, has formed “Committee for Disaster Relief 2016” to collect the materials and funds for the purpose of helping the affected people.
